Em férias na aldeia do Meco (pouca poluição luminosa +  lua nos seus primeiros dias de crescimento) e com a decisão de não tirar tempo à família com fotografia de aves eis que me prendem a atenção Saturno e Marte. Não tendo propriamente preparado uma sessão de fotografia nocturna, parecia ao mesmo tempo que a mesma se anunciava na noite de 9 de agosto. Decidi então dar início ao meu primeiro projeto de arrastamento estelar.

Já havia dedicado uma caminhada, pela tarde, na busca de bons enquadramentos / silhuetas com

a estrela polar sempre em consideração. As definições da câmara foram ajustadas (ISO, disparador e levantamento de espelho, o tripé improvisado a partir de um escadote, gambiarra para alumiar o caminho, a focagem manual tratada...

O caminho já trilhado e marcado durante o dia lá se foi revelando noite dentro. Fiz-me ao caminho procurando não ser alvejado, é que andar assim com escadote debaixo do braço, mochila e lanterna não deve ser comum para que vive naqueles bosques isolados.

Local seleccionado e vai a ver-se... a lente (18-50mm) não era suficiente para chegar tão alto (estrela polar). Bolas! E tanta preparação para quê? Bem, lição aprendida pelo menos.

A única hipótese para que se desperdiçasse a noite - voltar-me a sul e tentar qualquer coisinha. E de 30 em 30 segundos lá saiu cada um dos disparos durante uns 45 minutos.

Nota para a pequena falha que se nota no arrastamento... É que ainda deu para um valente susto provocado por A.N.I. (animal não identificado). Não que ainda fui flanqueado umas três vezes por um desses bichos que por ali andavam entre, exactamente aqueles arbustos que se vêem na fotografia?... Grande injeção de adrenalina  foi o que foi!

On vacation in the village of Meco (little light pollution + moon in its early days of growth) and the decision in mind not to take time out with the bird photography there it was Saturn and Mars holding my attention. Not having properly prepared a night photo session, seemed at the same time that it was announced in the evening of 9 August. 

I decided to begin my first star trail session.

I dedicated a walk in the afternoon in search of good frameworks / silhouettes with the polar star always in consideration. Camera settings were adjusted (ISO, shutter and mirror lifting the makeshift tripod from a stepladder, lantern to light the way, the treated manual focus ...)

The path had been already defined and marked during the day.

I made myself on the way trying not to be shooted because walking in the darkness with a ladder under one arm, black backpack and flashlight on the other hand should not be common for those living isolated villas.

Selected the site, started pointing and ... the lens (18-50mm) was not enough to get so high (Polar Star).

Darn it! And so much preparation for what? Well, lesson learned at least.

The only chance for not having wasted the night - backed my self oriented south and tryed a little something. And 30 to 30 seconds came out each shot for about 45 minutes.

Note to the minor flaw that you can see in the picture ... Is that still gave a mighty scare caused by U.A. (Unidentified Animal). I flanked three times by one of these animals exactly where those bushes are (seen in the picture)... Great shot of adrenaline thats what it was...
